Volunteering at the zoo has many rewards. Aside from having the satisfaction of a meaningful contribution of service to people, animals and conservation, volunteering allows you to expand your social circle and volunteer work has even been proven to be good for your health and well-being. While volunteering, you are awarded discounts on food and Zoo gifts and are also eligible for free admission to the Zoo for yourself and others.

Giraffe Docents!
We are presently recruiting for Giraffe Docents to help preview our new giraffes in their temporary home. Giraffe Docents will be stationed in front of these beautiful creatures where they will speak with guests sharing fun facts about the giraffes and answering any questions. Hours for this are between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. (Animal Docent volunteer description.)
Botanical Volunteers
As a Botanical Volunteer, you will be helping our Horticulture Staff care for and expand the Zoo’s historical garden. (Description)
Commissary/Enrichment Aide
As a Commissary Aide, you will be working with our Commissary Staff to support our animal-keeper staff by preparing animal diets and enrichment. (Description)
Main Gate Support
As a Main Gate Support Volunteer, you will be working with our Entry Manager to aid in welcoming guests into the Zoo. (Description)
Membership Program Aides
As a Membership Program Aide, you will be working with our Assistant Development Manager to help maintain and expand our membership program. (Description)
Park Attendant Aides
As a Park Attendant Aide, you will help our Park Services Manager by patrolling the trails and monitoring shows for guest and animal safety. (Description)
Primate Expedition Cruise Aides
As a Primate Expedition Cruise Aide, you will help our Park Services Manager and Cruise Guides at the boat dock. (Description)
Special Events Volunteers
As a Special Events Volunteer, you will assist our Director of Group Sales to aid with special events that are held on Zoo grounds. (Description)
Student Volunteers (Minimum age 16)
Student volunteers may help the Zoo in a variety of areas, dependent upon each candidate’s skills and the Zoo’s needs. (Description)
Zoo Ambassadors (In the Community)
As an External Zoo Ambassador, you will be aiding the Director of Operations and the Zoo by promoting the Naples Zoo at off-site events. (Description)
Zoo Ambassadors (In the Zoo)
As an Internal Zoo Ambassador, you will be aiding the Director of Operations and other Zoo staff on grounds by welcoming and directing Zoo guests, conducting surveys, etc. (Description)
Zoo Keeper Aides
As a Zoo Keeper Aide, you will be working with our Animal Staff and General Curator to assist in the daily husbandry of our animals. (Description)
Orientations
We will also be holding general volunteer orientations and supplemental orientation on interpretation. If you are friendly, outgoing and self-motivated please accept this invitation to attend. In this time we will cover general information about the volunteer program and tour the Zoo grounds. Lunch is included in this orientation so please RSVP early.
